Fly Palomino Tour with The Infamous Stringdusters

The definition of bluegrass is being challenged.  Ever since the “Oh Brother” bubble burst, string-bands have developed into the mainstream redefining “bluegrass” and shifting the limiting paradigm of acoustic instruments.  Divergent string-band worlds collide as thrash-grassers Trampled by Turtles and the virtuosic Infamous Stringdusters team up to bring you the Fly Palomino Tour.

The Infamous Stringdusters are at the forefront of a new movement in bluegrass music. Their unmatched virtuosity has enabled them to take acoustic music to a completely new level. They wield an expansive repertoire touching on masters from Jimmy Martin to John Hartford, but their strength lies in their original compositions.

“Wait So Long” video added to “Wide Open Country” on CMT Pure

Starting this week, our new video for “Wait So Long” goes into rotation on CMT Pure’s “Wide Open Country”. The channel is available on most Cable TV packages nationwide -check local listings.

You can stream the video on their website’s video player:

From CMT.com:

Everybody knows that turtles are supposed to be slow, but Trampled by Turtles are a new band that likes their bluegrass fast and dirty, to say the least. The break-neck speed that graces much of their Palomino album — which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s bluegrass chart — speaks to a diverse musical background that includes punk and indie-rock bands. More importantly, it does as much to get my blood flowing in the morning as about five cups of coffee. “Wait So Long” shivers with pent up energy from the first few notes, only to be let loose in a controlled fury of banjo, fiddle and lonesome vocal harmonies. The young alt-grass outfit’s video is simple but intense, and you won’t have to “wait so long” to be run over by their unique sound.

Delfest – One of JamBase’s Three Must See Bands

Looking forward to our debut Delfest appearance this weekend in Cumberland, MD. The folks at JamBase picked TbT as one of the must see bands at the festival:

http://www.jambase.com/Articles/22897/Memorial-Day-Weekend-Fest-Preview/2

From JamBase:
Singer-guitarist Dave Simonett writes some of the most enduring, resonant songs coming out of any contemporary string band, and he and the rest of the Turtles breath fire live, stirring up a ruckus that seems nigh impossible for guys seated onstage. They’ve also got a tender side that’s genuinely stirring. Young and possessed with a real drive to show the world what they’ve got, TBT has all the makings of a future headliner at fests like Del’s and Northwest String Summit. See ‘em now so you can tell your kids about it when they’re famous.
